The idea for a First Responders Lunch was conceived by the son of one of the West Central Community Center's staff members. His vision was to honor those who protect and serve the citizens of our community by providing lunch and recognition for all first responders. He presented his idea to Chief Brian Schaeffer, Chief Mark John, Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, and Captin Tracie Meidl. Their response was one of gratitude and enthusiasm! In 2019 we hosted our inaugural First Responders Luncheon and it was a great success.
On Tuesday, October 5 of this year, the West Central Community Center will host our second First Responders Luncheon, honoring the brave women and men who serve in the Spokane Police Department, the county Sheriff's Office, and the Spokane Fire Department.
**Due to the uptick in Covid cases, First Responders will be served a boxed lunch via drive-thru pickup.
We invite you to join us in celebrating our local first responder heroes.
